About the Council
The Council consists of 15 independent experts from the fields of education, research and innovation and is responsible for making recommendations to the Federal Council.
The SSC makes its expertise available to federal authorities and stakeholders. The Council aims to continuously improve the framework conditions for the Swiss ERI system, using a “policy for science” approach.
The report is available in English, with summaries in German, French and Italian. The expert reports by Prof. Dr. J. Philipp Trein and Dr. Ana Petrus are included in English as appendices to the report.
The Swiss Science Council SSC is the advisory body to the Confederation for all issues related to science, higher education, research and innovation policy. For each legislative period, the SSC develops a Working Programme in line with the political authorities' agenda.
